Announcements:  

Leaf Raking Update:        

Thank you to all the Kolmar families who came out this past weekend for the D123 community leaf-raking event. The event was a huge success and together with the other schools, we were able to help over 90 seniors and veterans in the community!

 

 

Thanksgiving Break:

There will be no school Monday, November 20th, through Friday, November 24th for Thanksgiving Break. School will resume at 8:30 am on Monday, November 27th. Enjoy the extra time with your families!

Winter Craft Night:  

Kolmar PTA will be hosting a Family Winter Craft Night on Friday, December 1st at 6:00 p.m.

PTA Meeting:            

Our next PTA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5th at 7pm in the staff room.

Late Start (Dec):       

There is a district-wide late start Wednesday, December 6th. School will begin at 9:30 a.m. for children in K-5. Morning EC/BEL/PFA students will be in session from 9:45-11:45 a.m. EC/BEL/PFA afternoon sessions will run from 12:45-2:45 p.m.

Parent University:

The Parent University Session: “How to Hold Positive Dinner Time Conversation and Why it’s Important” will be held on Thursday, December 7th at OLHMS at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Joe Macchia – Director of Technology & Communication and Mr. David Creech – Kolmar Principal will facilitate the session. Everyone is welcome!

 

Feed 6 at OLHMS:

On Saturday, December 16th, Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School will be hosting its 5th annual Feed 6 Meal Packaging Event; this will take place in the OLHMS gymnasium. Participants can choose from the 9:00-11:00a.m. shift or 11:30-1:30p.m.  On this day, students, teachers, and the community will come together to package fortified meals to be delivered to local food pantries.  All participants must raise a minimum of $30 to help cover the costs of the food, materials, and delivery.  This 2-hour event meets the required community service hours for OLHMS students.  All money is due by Friday, December 1st.

Spirit Days:                

We are encouraging all of our Kolmar students and staff to wear their Kolmar Spirit-Wear or school colors every Friday!
